Hear from historian Mark Sage as he shares the story of traveling missionary Frank Higgins.

Known as the Sky Pilot to lumberjacks in the heyday of Minnesota’s white pine logging era, Higgins traveled tirelessly to over 300 logging camps at the turn of the last century. The life of Frank Higgins is a fascinating window into the good and the bad of Minnesota's logging history.

Mark Sage is an interpreter at the Forest History Center as well as an author, presenter, and historian of America's early westward expansion, and he is a licensed minister.
