Hastings Needle Work catch stitch embroidery sample

Embroidery is an art form that features prominently in several cultures and across eras. The Minnesota Historical Society has many fine examples in our collection, which we will share over the next few weeks in recognition of National Embroidery Month. Our first sample is this piece of embroidery demonstrating technique — and which has a description of itself also embroidered on the fabric!
