Join lacrosse educators Inyan Walking Elk (Dakota, Hopi, Tsisistas and Hinonoei), John Hunter (Winnebago/White Earth Ojibwe), founder of Twin Cities Native Lacrosse, and curator Ben Gessner for a conversation about lacrosse and community health.

“The 'Creator’s game,' as it is sometimes known, is played for fun, celebration, and socializing as well as healing. Ceremonial games are played to restore balance to individual players and their communities and express respect for the connection between humans and plants, animals and earth,” Hunter writes in his article Traditional Native American Lacrosse in Minnesota.

This program will be streamed live and also archived as a recording on Facebook and YouTube.

The Artist in the Gallery series highlights many of the artists featured in the Our Home: Native Minnesota exhibit. Support for this program provided by the Rosemary and David Good Family Foundation.
