This powerful program shines a spotlight on trailblazing female composers including Florence Price, Salina Fisher, Missy Mazzoli, Caroline Shaw, and Franghiz Ali-Zadeh. Performed by the all-female MCSQ, the concert highlights the bold, beautiful, and boundary-pushing voices shaping classical music today. Don’t miss this inspiring afternoon of music and celebration! This concert promises to be a captivating tribute to the contributions of women composers, and best of all, it is free to attend!
Come for the Julia Child: A Recipe for Life exhibition, then stay for the program! The performance starts at 2:00 pm in the 3M Auditorium. Registration is recommended, but not required. A paid ticket or museum membership is required to visit the Julia Child: A Recipe for Life exhibition.
Established in 2007, Mill City String Quartet (MCSQ) is an internationally prize-winning chamber ensemble based in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, USA. Current MCSQ members are Huldah Niles (Artistic Director and Violin), Erika Hoogeveen (Violin), Coca Bochonko (Viola), and Rebeccah Parker Downs (Cello).
