Book Launch: "Pearl's Garden" Storytime with Carolyn Olson

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Green Room Main Library 520 W. Superior St. , Duluth, Minnesota

About This Event

Join us to celebrate the release of Pearl’s Garden, by artist Carolyn Olson! Carolyn will read her new book in a special storytime, geared to kids ages Pre-K to Grade 3. Duluth Community Garden Program will also share a fun seed activity, along with information on how to get involved with local community gardening opportunities. Copies of Pearl's Garden will be available for purchase. Although activities are geared to a younger audience and their caregivers, all are welcome to join!

Pearl’s Garden is Olson's first picture book. It tells the story of a young girl inspired to start a garden in the backyard of her urban neighborhood. As the season unfolds, the garden draws in different members of her family and neighborhood as they all share in the abundance of the season. Pearl’s Garden celebrates the power of urban gardens to bring people together—to share memories, to raise plants, and to savor fresh flavors.
