Join the Minnesota State Band for their annual spring concert, “Pictures, Postcards, and Portraits.” Opening with a fan favorite—Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture—this diverse program includes musical “pictures” from The Louvre, “postcards” from Portugal—composed by Minnesota’s own Carol Barnett—and “portraits” of Charlie Chaplin and Abraham Lincoln. Don’t miss this musical celebration that is sure to entertain and inspire.
The Minnesota State Band is the Official Band of the State of Minnesota and has been delighting audiences since their first appearance in April 1898 at a St. Paul Apostles baseball game. The band is the only remaining State Band in the United States and is now operated as a non-profit organization with an all-volunteer membership. The Band performs year-round for audiences across Minnesota and has represented the State of Minnesota on six International Goodwill Tours since 1986.
