About This Event
Fall is a crisp yet bountiful season of transition, offering generous harvests for foragers stocking their winter larders. Join Maria Wesserle of Four Season Foraging in this introductory class about common wild edibles. Together we will explore the fall landscape in search of late-season fruits, nuts, and seeds. The second part of the class will take place in the kitchen, where we will learn to process our harvested finds.
Please dress for the weather (rain or shine!) and be prepared to walk around a mile. Plants we will probably encounter include garlic mustard, dandelion, common milkweed, and many others! If we’re lucky, we may also find some fall mushrooms such as chicken of the woods or turkey tail. You will leave with a newfound appreciation for the wild edibles that grow all around us plus a greater sense of confidence in foraging your own food!
