Many people know Justice Alan Page from his 22-year career on the Minnesota Supreme Court or as one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history. But over the course of nearly four decades, Page and his late wife, Diane Sims Page, created another way to make an impact—through their extraordinary collection of African American art and artifacts.

We are honored to announce that the Justice Alan Page and Diane Sims Page Collections, consisting of football career memorabilia, Justice Page’s judicial papers, and the family’s collection of Americana from slavery to today, will find a new home here at the Minnesota Historical Society, becoming one of the largest collections donated by a family to MNHS.

Justice Alan Page, daughter Georgi Page-Smith, and MNHS staff will reveal the inspiration behind these incredible collections, share the curatorial intake process, and explore the opportunities that these items and their stories present now and for future generations.

A special announcement will close out the program.
