About This Event
Iron Range native Crystal Schlueter will highlight the “Five Ps” of regional cooking - Cornish pasties, Croatian pigs in a blanket, Italian porketta, Slovenian potica, and Finnish pulla. In addition, Schlueter explores a variety of local ingredients such as fish, venison, and wild rice, while emphasizing local food producers in efforts to support their craft. Her book also features sections on Native foodways, Boundary Waters campfire cooking, and an introduction cooking in a sauna. At the end of the presentation, Schlueter might just have some Iron Range tastes to sample.
