About This Event
This is a story about Phyllis Root's journey and her passion for Minnesota's richness in habitat and native wildflowers. For twenty years she's been learning about, writing about, and visiting Minnesota's wilder places, from the Lost Forty to the Big Bog to the prairies to the North Shore to the overburden in the Iron Range. Four children's books about Minnesota habitats later, she found myself writing two books about Minnesota's native wildflowers, not as a botanist or naturalist but as someone who has fallen in love with our wealth of wildflowers, the communities where they live, and the importance of saving those places.
