St. Paul, MN 55102
This summer Bands on the Boulevard features local acts from the First Avenue scene. On July 2, take in the power rock sounds of Porcupine.
Porcupine started in 2006 in La Crosse, WI, where singer/guitarist Casey Virock had previously launched another indie rock trio, Space Bike. Now based in Minneapolis, the band has evolved to full maturity, a potent force propelled by drummer Ian Prince and the most recent addition to the band, bassist Greg Norton, formerly of Hüsker Dü.
During Bands on the Boulevard, enjoy a free outdoor concert every Tuesday night in July in the History Center courtyard. Bring a lawn chair and pack a picnic or purchase food from Market House by D'Amico. Come early and take advantage of free admission to the exhibit First Avenue: Stories of Minnesota's Mainroom from 3 to 9 pm.
Bands on the Boulevard is presented by Xcel Energy. The First Avenue exhibit is made possible in part by presenting sponsor, Baird, and media partner, The Current.
