About This Event
Over the past 175 years, portraiture in Minnesota has changed immensely. Portraits were once exclusively for political leaders, the super wealthy, and war heroes. But overtime portraiture in Minnesota opened up to more types of sitters, more styles, and new technology that allowed portraits to be for everyone.
Join us in the 3M auditorium for an exclusive preview into the upcoming the See and Be Seen exhibit opening at the Minnesota History Center in November. Arielle Fields, MNHS Curator of Fine Art, will give you a glimpse into the expressive world of portraiture and the Minnesota artists behind their compelling art.
The building will be open to the public until 8 pm as part of our Free Thursday Nights at the History Center program. Parking in the Minnesota History Center lot is complimentary after 4 pm.
