Dassel Area Historical Society
Biography:
The mission statement of the Dassel Area Historical Society is “Preserving the Past, Enriching the Present, and Securing the Future.” To preserve the history of the seed corn industry in the central Minnesota community of Dassel beginning in the 1880s, the historical society developed an exhibit titled Seed Corn: From Maize to Amazing, on permanent display at the Dassel History Center and Ergot Museum. Some of the research materials and images developed for that exhibit form the basis of “Developing Seed Corn for Minnesota’s Cold Climate, 1880–1940.”
