2004-05 History Forum: Building the Bully Pulpit: Men Who Made the American Presidency
Theodore Roosevelt called the presidency "a bully pulpit," referring to the power of the office. In this lecture series, six historians examine some of the past presidents who helped transform this "bully pulpit" and to assess the work of those who have held the office more recently. Lectures will be held monthly through March.
