The Minnesota Historical Society staffs the Capitol Information and Tour Center located in Room 126 on the first floor to the right side of the main (south) entrance. The guest services staff are happy to assist with tour information, room locations, meeting and event information, and general questions. In addition, the desk is stocked with capitol brochures, legislative meeting schedules, and helpful tourist information.
A gift shop located at the Capitol Information and Tour Center offers a variety of books on capitol art and architecture, Minnesota, the Civil War, the U.S.–Dakota War of 1862, and political history. In addition, the shop carries postcards and unique capitol and Minnesota-themed souvenirs.
The state capitol does not have strollers available. The restrooms are equipped with diaper-changing facilities.

Service animals, such as guide dogs, are permitted. Pets are not allowed.
