Begin at the visitor center. Try hands-on activities and view exhibits and a video about Native American culture and prairie ecology.
The visitor center offers a video presentation and an interpretive display about Native American culture and prairie ecology. The “Packing a Travois” model with hands-on objects gives guests a chance to interact with Native American tools, clothing, and games, and a prairie plant exhibit compares the root system of corn compared to a native prairie plant.
The museum store includes Native American gifts and jewelry, snacks, caps, t-shirts, and sweatshirts, as well as books on history, archaeology, astronomy, and nature. It is open during regular site hours.
