Training/Experience: Our core team includes preservation planners, architectural historians, archivist, heritage tourism specialists, real estate and redevelopment professionals, community engagement practitioners, and educators. Together, we offer expertise in National Register documentation, Section 106 support, historic resource surveys, preservation policy, Main Street revitalization, and interpretive planning.
Rethos's preservation staff meet or exceed the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards in History, Architectural History, and Historic Preservation Planning. Our real estate and project management staff hold advanced professional credentials, including PMP and CSM.
As a Minnesota-based nonprofit with statewide reach, Rethos brings deep knowledge of Minnesota’s historic landscapes, local planning contexts, and preservation statutes. Our team is dedicated to practical, community-centered solutions that help places across the state steward and reinvest in their historic resources.
Notes: Our Historic Rehabilitation Loan Program helps to reimagine underused spaces into vibrant, modernized buildings that generate income, sales, property tax, and new enthusiam for their communities. We offer tax-advantaged loans to projects that are allocated state historic tax credits. Our 501(c)(3) status maximizes the value of the state credit. We partner with leaders in development, finance, construction and legal fields to provide cost-effective, fast, and reliable services. Historic tax credits encourage investment in building reuse, and we help make the most of those credits.
