Hands-on Activities for All Ages at Mill City Museum’s STEM Family Day

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (February 17, 2026) – Science, technology, engineering, and math have all played key roles in the history of Minneapolis. On February 28, Mill City Museum invites guests to its annual free STEM Family Day to get a hands-on look at how the field has affected the Twin Cities riverfront.

The day’s program will feature fun and educational activities and demonstrations from notable STEM organizations in Minnesota and Minnesota Historical Society staff. Families can learn the history of STEM in the Twin Cities and get a glimpse of the important work being done locally in the field.

Guest Organizations include:

  • General Mills Grain and Flour Quality Lab
  • Minnesota Raptor Center
  • National Park Service
  • Minnesota Herpetological Society
  • Geological Society of Minnesota
  • American Chemical Society - Minnesota Local Section
