Native American Museum Fellows Complete Innovative Program

ST. PAUL, Minn (August 6, 2026) – Ten Native American Museum Fellows will share their key takeaways from ten weeks of seminars, travel, and hands-on internships in the Minnesota Historical Society’s Native American Museum Fellowship (NAMF) program.

The Fellows will give their Capstone presentations at the Minnesota History Center Friday, August 7 at 10 am. Friends, family, and supporters will be in attendance to cheer them on!

NAMF, an innovative program organized by the Native American Initiatives Department at MNHS, is designed to expose students to careers in the museum field. NAMF fellows participate in three weeks of workshops and seminars, followed by seven weeks of immersive paid internships. Program alumni have accepted jobs in related fields, including Tribal historic preservation officers, language revitalization coordinators, national museum/MNHS staff members, museum curators, art gallery directors, and many more.

Since its inception 16 years ago, the NAMF program at the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) has graduated more than 100 students from around the country who represent more than 50 different Tribal Nations!
