Contests and Judging

group of students

History Day has a competition component that can be a fun way to showcase a year's worth of hard work by students. See information below about how students can participate in the competition cycle or how you can get involved as a judge.

Contests

Competitions can be a fun and valuable part of the History Day process! The Minnesota History Day competition involves four levels of events: School, Regional, State, and National. Research Papers participate through an off-site judging process, given the length of time needed to review projects in this category.

Learn about the competition process or find event dates and information at the links below.

Judging

Volunteer judges can be anyone that may enjoy working with students, have a love of history, or like to learn new things! We seek volunteer judges at every level of the contest. The Judges page can tell you what to expect and how to sign up.
