The videos won't play in the iPad app.
The release of iPad OS 14.x caused many video players embedded in apps to stop working. This is temporarily preventing videos in the Northern Lights Interactive eBook, which is in the MNHS Education app, from playing. We believe a solution is close. In the meantime, users can stream the videos in the Chrome browser on their iPad, using the same username and password that they use in the iPad app. For more information on the browser-based access to the Northern Lights Interactive eBook, please view the “Web browser access” on this page.

Chapters are taking a long time to download/stream.
The Northern Lights Interactive eBook contains large video and audio files. Accessing the interactive eBook with a slow internet connection or at the same time on multiple devices may cause it to download and/or stream very slowly. Due to increased internet usage during the COVID-19 pandemic, internet speeds and usage in your area may also affect the download/stream speed of the interactive eBook.
If I don’t have a dedicated internet connection (WiFi), can I access the interactive eBook?
Yes, but access via a device’s cellular network (not WiFi) may use significant data as the videos and audio are large files.
I downloaded the MNHS Education app on my iPad, opened the Northern Lights Interactive eBook, and can see the chapters, but it says “Restricted Access” when I click/tap on a chapter.
“Restricted Access” means you have (downloaded and) opened the app, but you’re not logged in. Chapter content can only be accessed if a user is logged in and has downloaded a chapter.
I downloaded a chapter from the Northern Lights Interactive eBook onto my iPad app, but now it's gone.
If a chapter previously downloaded is no longer available, the device ran out of storage and the chapter download was deleted off your device. Interactive eBook chapters are large files and iPads have limited storage. Simply re-download the chapter to access the content. To preserve storage space on your iPad, limit the number of chapters downloaded at one time.
